A church planting couple, send their greetings from Southeast Asia where they serve among the Prai people by God’s grace. Recently they spent a month in the city hands on grandparenting. This was followed by almost three weeks of recovering from bronchitis for the wife of the couple.
They remain busy, although perhaps at a slower pace. The husband continues mentoring meetings, writing Bible lessons, plus question booklets to go with them, keeping the new songbook current, and general maintenance. An important accomplishment has been a good start at organising all the Prai digital material and passing on the responsibility of making printed material available to the church, as well as ordering more when needed. Pray for the young ladies who have skills for this work to have a heart for this ministry.
The wife is more on the support side of their work and is also teaching third grade to their grandaughter. They are blessed to have three grandchildren about fifteen minutes away! A wonderful answer to a long-time prayer was God’s provision of a homeschool facilitator for their two older grandchildren.
In June they were privileged to have an “Encounter” team of eighteen visit for a weekend of exposure to the Prai church. It was encouraging for them to see God calling young people to follow where He leads them.
The large group of believers in Sandy Creek is beginning to take on more responsibility, although elders still make the trip each weekend to teach there. They need to organise a training class for ladies ready to teach Sunday school for the children.
Outreach continues, mainly in the more isolated mountain villages. Gem Forest Christians make the very long trip to Rosewood village every other week. As the bird flies this village is not that far away, but going by road it is well over three hours of mostly mountain driving. Believers from other villages continue making relationships necessary for teaching, as well as teaching the small group of believers in Grassy Wallow. As Light comes into this dark place there is some strong opposition along with fear of coming out of Satan’s kingdom. Please have a part in praying for this spiritual battle. There are other Prai villages in the area also showing the first signs of interest.
Finally, please remember the persecuted church across the border. As the church has seen substantial growth, pressure from officials has increased. The believers realise they must be willing to lay down their lives for their faith.
Your prayers are very much valued. God loves to use the body of Christ working together to accomplish His purposes for His glory.
