Nathan and Maria Tremeer with their three sons serve at NTM-UK North Cotes. Much of what they do is unseen but plays a vital part on the campus and for the community.
It’s been a busy few months for Nathan who manages the various aspects of IT on site. With several projects running together, dealing with day-to-day technical support, and running the sound for the annual Reach conference in between – which takes just over a week to transform the sports hall into a conference space. Conferences are always a highlight of his year.
In January he worked on a new cloud administration service for managing laptops, and going forward it will be possible to support desk top computers in the same way too, making things more flexible for those who travel a lot in their ministry.
Recently several power cuts in the local area caused some problems with IT equipment on site that Nathan then had to spend time to fix; a reminder of how much we depend on technology these days and how much we take for granted that the power will just be on!
He is now working on some upgrades to the IT network infrastructure. There’s a lot of kit that works behind the scenes just keeping everything else working – it’s the stuff most people never see but if it isn’t working well and kept up to date, very quickly everything else can stop working!
As a wife and mother Maria’s main ministry at present is supporting Nathan, taking care of their three boys and keeping house. She loves to host and open their home to people including co-workers, current students – families and singles, former students, missionaries on home assignments and friends and family from all over the country. There is always a cup of tea, usually some cake, and an open house and ears.
The end of March was a very busy time for her as six weeks before the Reach conference she started planning, shopping, and baking for the conference coffee breaks. Now she is doing it all over again for the conference in June. She is very grateful for Carol Townley’s help.
In April she had the privilege to join the ladies’ weekend held by their sending church in Germany. A time filled with friends and family, and where she was emotionally and spiritually refreshed. The speaker reminded them that every area of life should have eternity as the focus. It is a huge blessing to have so many people that truly care for and support them, even though they don’t see each other often.
Please pray for the many personnel needs on campus to be filled, including help for Nathan in IT, the kitchen, nursery and more.
