In May, André Tousch will be travelling to Papua New Guinea for a translation check of the New Testament in the Iski language. These are portions of Matthew translated by André’s wife, Aurélie, in 2021-2022 but which had not yet been checked with a consultant, and the epistles he worked on in 2022-2024 (2 Corinthians, Philippians, Colossians, Philemon). These are the last portions André has left to check with a consultant. It is a major milestone!
André’s colleague Jason is also working on translating epistles, and he plans to see the consultant in October for his final check. So, the plan is to have finished checking the whole New Testament this year. They are committing this timeline to the Lord so that nothing will thwart this project!
For the check with the consultant in May, several Iski believers will be joining André at the mission centre in Goroka. He will therefore spend most of his time at the mission centre and not in Iski land, but he still plans to go there for a few days to see his brothers and sisters in Christ.
Since André and family returned to France from PNG in 2022, André has not been able to find much time to visit the churches that support his ministry. He would like to take the time in June, after his trip to PNG, to visit churches. This will be an opportunity to provide fresh news from the Iski church, and to share about his new ministry with SIM. No means of communication, not even the telephone or video conference, is a perfect substitute for visiting friends.
Though I have much to write to you, I would rather not use paper and ink. Instead I hope to come to you and talk face to face, so that our joy may be complete. 2 John 12
