Kirk and Yolanda who serve in West Africa are having some difficulty finding additional suitable translation helpers before they proceed with the next step in translating John – the recording check. In the meantime, Kirk has been working with one of the believers on developing some new Landuma health and story books. They are the only ones developing Landuma reading materials. They like to keep their library growing so the literacy students have plenty of material to read in preparation for reading the Scriptures.
They had a very good evangelistic visit to a village a few weeks ago. For several hours, 9-14 adults, mostly men, listened and participated in discussion. They were taught through Genesis 1-3. The response was very encouraging. The men had some serious questions about what they were hearing. It was a privilege to be able share the light of God’s Word with them, so that they could clearly see some of the key differences between false religion and the true message of the Creator.
One man who has been seeking healing has been listening to audio recordings of God’s Word and it appears his faith in a sham shaman is now broken. Pray for him, that he would put his faith in God and His Word alone.

Yolanda’s work with her literacy students, that they would show up every day and learn quickly. Pray for patience and creativity as Yolanda seeks to make her classes fun while maintaining discipline and proper respect.
Landuma helpers for translation checking.
The group of men that has been studying the Bible would have a growing interest in the message. Pray they would truly believe in its truth, power and authority, even when it reveals the errors of their religious texts and religious system.
The believer whose second son is living in town, working part time helping missionaries there, and involved in a discipleship programme. He is also serving in a local church there. Praise the Lord for the opportunities he has for spiritual growth. Pray that God would continue to mature him, and that he would find ways to earn a living. Pray that he would find a godly Christian wife.
