Sometimes it is hard for Ralf and Elli Schlegel with Mimi to put it into words what life is like in Papua New Guinea as many things are very different. It is not just the weather but also the people, the things they talk about, the way they live, the work, the schools, the free time; it is all so different. Yet the Dinangat believers have the same desire to please the Lord with their lives and to make Him known in order that many more people will know Him, as Saviour! Ralf and Elli are encouraged by the fact that they are on the same journey together although it looks different for each one!
Recently all three of them had Covid and were thankful for pain medication, and for the many people who took care of them with meals and notes of encouragement!
This month they are back in Dinangat for a two-week visit with the Dinangat church. They are excited to connect with them again, and are helping with preparations for a planned outreach to the neighbouring village. They also plan to continue work on the Dinangat Bible translation. Pray for a good and effective time with the church!
As a family, they are now spread over three different continents. One daughter and her husband are in Germany, another is in Asia and Ralf, Elli and Mimi live in PNG. Although they experience how God is taking care of them, this separation still feels very heavy on them all. Some days it is a case of making the decision to surrender ALL to their heavenly Father and to trust Him for ALL He does in their lives.
