The last quarter

The third Quarter is over at the mission school in Mexico which means that for Julia Reeves the final stretch of the school year has begun.

Recently Julia and two other chaperones accompanied the senior class on their trip and had a great time. Pray for the senior graduating class of 2019, for wisdom for their next choices beyond school life and for protection as they leave the ‘mission bubble’ and go out into the big wide world.

Julia’s plans for next year are still uncertain; pray for God’s guidance for the future as she makes job applications or receives offers.

Recently Julia’s dad was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia, which has been a blow for the whole family. Words cannot express the pain she feels being so far away. The past two months have been an emotional struggle. Please pray that God will be her  refuge and strength during this distant time.

Julia is thankful that God chose her to be a small part of this mighty work for the kingdom and as she lives out her last few months in the dusty desert of Chihuahua, Mexico. She really wants to cherish each moment He brings day by day. Pray that she will seize every opportunity to evangelise, encourage, uplift and love wherever she can and with whoever she meets. Julia’s prayer is to also visit a tribe in the mountains before she leaves; however, usually when people from the mission take trips it is during term time! She will continue to be involved with LightShine in the city, but please pray that God might make it possible for her to visit a mountain tribe and even a tribal church plant!

The school will not only be losing Julia as one of their main full-time secondary teachers, but will also be losing three of the primary teachers due to retirement, marriage, returning home etc. The Principal, has heard some good news that there will be a couple of new teachers arriving for primary, (praise the Lord!), but sadly, they still need at least one other primary teacher for next year and a replacement for Julia’s role (especially secondary English). Please be praying that God will raise up willing workers.

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am. Send me.” Isaiah 6:8
