Thankful

Lív is a Bible translator in a missionary team in West Africa. The team are thankful that the translation consultant was able to visit in June and that everything went well. They were able to check Galatians, Colossians, 2 Corinthians, Philippians, Philemon and 2 Timothy. Pray for the language helper that normally helps with the checks. He has been sick a lot during the last year, and his memory is not what it used to be. Lord willing the consultant will be able to visit again in November, and check the rest of the epistles. They are hoping that Genesis, that the young villager has translated, will also be checked soon.

The Gospel of Matthew was also recorded in July, which is one-step in the translation process. A young man from the village, now living near the capital city, was able to repeat what had been read to him, and this was then recorded. Some changes were made to the draft so that it sounds more natural. Pray that the Lord will use what he has heard in his life. He is not a believer. The next step will be comprehension-checking Matthew with some villagers.

Bible teaching has resumed in the village with around twenty adults and some children in attendance. They have finished the lessons on 1 Thessalonians and 2 Thessalonians and Revelation will be taught next. Lív reads stories from the Bible to the children before the teaching starts. They listen well and often remember them. Pray for those attending the teaching, that the Lord through the Holy Spirit will give them understanding and draw them to Himself. Pray for the Lord to give the Bible teacher wisdom as he teaches.

Thank you for your prayers.
