Surprised

Recently, when walking into a Kankanaey village in the Philippines where they had been invited to share God’s Word with a group of people, Ragnar and Elizabeth were greeted with a Danish ‘Good Morning. How are you?’ What a surprise! Ragnar speaks Danish, and it was fun to see their smiles as they reacted to Ragnar’s response.

Two sisters that had married Danish men and have been living in Denmark for over 40 years had returned to their home area in the Philippines to visit their mum, and that morning their paths happened to cross. Ragnar and Elizabeth were happy for this opportunity to meet the ladies and give them each a Kankanaey Bible. They are also thankful that subsequently they have been able to connect one of the sisters to a Bible believing church in her hometown.

Over one hundred people joined them for the meeting, sitting all around the yard. Elizabeth recognised several ladies from other villages, and it was a great opportunity for her to catch up with them. Following an enjoyable time of singing, Ragnar shared an encouraging message from the Word.

Elizabeth had hesitated to join Ragnar that day because of the terrain. However, they were assured that they could drive right to the yard. A friend on his motorbike, guided them down the path. The closer they got, the more she questioned whether it was suitable for their truck, but Ragnar, being the brave driver he is, didn’t even blink an eye. They were glad that they did make it in and had such an encouraging time.
