For Bart and Emily Allen, each week is filled with Bible translation, homeschooling, time with Amdu friends, connecting with their sons back home in the USA, fellowship with their teammates, and more.
In addition to all that regularly goes on, this month the team started something to help the believers continue to grow in their understanding of God’s Word. Morning and late afternoon each day they met for a concentrated course focusing on the first half of Ephesians. Next month they will do this again for the second half of the book. Along with the believers, a handful of interested unsaved friends are also listening. The goal is for the believers to be encouraged and strengthened and for the unbelievers to clearly hear the ‘Gospel of Grace’ and understand their need for salvation.
Pray for:
• Stamina and clarity for teammate Benjamin Hatton as he teaches and for the whole team as they talk with people about what they are hearing.
• Soft hearts for the believers to hear the challenges and encouragements from Ephesians 1-3.
• Understanding and conviction for the unbelievers who are listening in.
• Continued growth for the Amdu church.
• For the return of one of the believers who has been out in town for many months (he is a great translation helper, and it would be a big encouragement to have him back here in the village)
• For Bart and Emily’s sons back in the USA – living on their own and navigating the challenges. They are thankful that even way out in the remote jungle, they have been able to have fairly reliable communication with them. It is hard for being so far away; but being able to stay in touch is a huge blessing.
And some praises:
• After many, many months of ongoing pain probably due to tendinitis, Emily’s wrists are finally improving.
• Despite the continually rising costs of living in PNG, the Lord is providing what they need through His body of believers.
Thank you for faithfully partnering with the Amdu team through prayer.
