Reviewing

Over the holiday period Aaron and Amy Speitelsbach thought things might slow down a bit as they planned to not teach a lesson between Christmas and New Year. However, the lesson they were working on was a bit more complex and took a lot longer to get ready so they did not get as much rest as they anticipated. Nevertheless they were glad to have that extra time to get it sorted out.

Amy spent New Year in bed, recovering from malaria, but is better now. Aaron is also doing a bit better physically too.

Last week they enjoyed having a visitor from Ivory Coast, their co-worker’s translation helper, he helped them produce an audio recording of one of the Bible lessons.

Earlier this week they taught another lesson under the tree, reviewing the Ten Commandments and the Tabernacle. They talked about not being able to keep the law, and then God’s provision to provide reconciliation with Him through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, giving access to the throne of God, the most holy place in the Tabernacle, represented by the curtain that tore in the temple when Jesus died. The lesson went well, and those who attended listened attentively.

Aaron and Amy are glad of those who keep showing interest and are increasingly understanding what the Bible is teaching. Some of them are really tracking well. But at the same time, they are sad about those who stopped attending. May God turn their hearts and interest to Him.

Before the end of the month, they will need to make a trip back out to Monrovia for paperwork. They are dreading the trip as the deteriorated road conditions out from the village make travel a challenge. At least the road is somewhat dry now as there is much less rain which should help a bit.

Amy has started a new Glarro literacy class for school kids in the afternoons. The two trained teachers teach the class and so far that is going well.

Praise

• That they are doing better physically and are able to work and concentrate!

• For the work the Holy Spirit is doing in the lives of some Glarro people .

• For the clear picture of God’s plan of redemption in the Bible.

Please pray:

• That God will help them in their spiritual life.

• That God will draw more people back to hear His Word.

• For their trip to Monrovia, that they will be able to get in and out without too many problems, and get the paperwork done quickly without any issues.

Thank you for your prayers for Aaron and Amy and the Glarro people.
