Returning to PNG

Bart and Emily Allen, with Caleb and Micah, will be returning to Papua New Guinea from home assignment in early October.  Their other two sons, Luke and Titus, will continue living and working in the USA.

They plan to arrive in PNG in time for the annual conference (and standardised testing for the boys schooling) where all the missionaries in that region of PNG gather for several days of fellowship and encouragement.

Once the conference is over, Bart will need to fly to Amdu to get their solar power system up and running again, which their teammate Benjamin found was not working several months ago, just before he and his family returned to the USA for the summer. The contents of their fridge and freezer were mostly lost (and they will need to restock). Pray that a missionary tech expert can go along to help diagnose and fix the problems so that they can have power again in their house.

Emily and the boys will fly in later, and they will all get settled into village life again after over a year’s absence.

Prayer points:

  • They are currently working hard to fix up the house where Luke and Titus will be living when they leave. Pray for good success in finishing many projects in a short amount of time.
  • They are looking at travel route options and hope to buy tickets in the next day or two. Pray for reasonable prices, with adequate baggage allowance.
  • The next couple of weeks will be jam-packed and likely quite exhausting. Pray for stamina.
  • They do not know exactly what is wrong with their power system in Amdu, but they need to take in all the probable supplies to fix it! Pray for wisdom.
  • Goodbyes are never easy. But leaving two sons in the USA will be the hardest yet. Pray for courage and comfort!
  • Luke and Titus will have to adjust to living on their own without the rest of the family. Pray for their encouragement and continued direction for the future.

Thank you for your faithful prayers.
