Pressing on

While Jacob and Charis Doerr are on home assignment in the USA their co-workers are in Mian, Papua New Guinea pressing on!

Artenis and Jezekiel landed back in Mian earlier this week for another trip to mill timber for the missionary team’s houses and to construct a small office that they will all use during house building, and beyond into ministry.

This two week long trip will be full of grueling and hard manual labour. Please pray for Artenis, Jezekiel, and the other men who will be helping them. Also pray for their wives Mel and Anna as they stay back at home.

At the beginning of this trip they were joined by a man who was able to asses the strip and give further guidance on what needs done to complete the work.
They were extremely impressed by the amount of work the Mian people have put into the creation of this airstrip!> They have nearly finished all the trenches that need digging, and have also covered two thirds of the runway in sand and gravel to strengthen the ground! Much progress has been made and it is very possible the airstrip could be finished and usable by September.

Ways to Pray…

Pray for safety for Artenis, Jezekiel, and the other men who will be working with the chainsaws and constructing the office.

Pray for Artenis’s wife, Mel as she cares for their three children on her own. Pray for Jezekiel’s wife, Anna, expecting their first child and also on her own.

Pray that solid relationships would be formed with the Mian people as they work hand in hand with them over the next couple of weeks.

Pray for the Mian people, that the Lord would be softening their hearts and paving the way ahead for the Gospel to be presented.

Praise God for the work already completed on the airstrip!

Don’t forget…
…the Mian people are waiting! The missionary team’s hearts ache with the desire to one day live among them and share the Good News of Christ!
