Newly arrived

For Regina it feels unbelievable, but true that she has arrived in Brazil!

The last few weeks have been an emotional rollercoaster; waiting, hoping, enjoying, anticipation, the pain of saying goodbye, fear, joy, doubt and trust… there was a bit of everything, and the best thing is:  God was there through it all.

At the end of August, she had the privilege of experiencing a wonderful and uplifting commissioning service. Regina is richly blessed and gifted by her family, friends, base team, NTM family and church.

Knowing that so many people are behind her in prayer and are thus actively involved in her new ministry is indescribable!

Despite many (health) concerns on Regina’s part, it was a really good outward trip! She is so grateful to God! He gave her deep peace and tranquillity. After her first and very short night in Brazil, orientation classes started. She also had the opportunity to try out her Portuguese, from her time in Brazil many years ago, and discovered that there is still room for improvement.

As she looks back on those initial first days it is with amazement and gratitude! She met so many new people, made friends, and found a language helper, which she did not expect to happen so quickly.

This is what her everyday life will most likely look like in the coming weeks:

the day for themselves, (Meeting language assistants, doing things with people, or going shopping, etc.) – It requires a lot of self-discipline.

• The kind and excellent care from the people she has met in Brazil

• Her language helper

• God’s omnipresence

Please pray for.

• Friendships, especially with locals

• Self-discipline and the wise use of time

• The right focus – JESUS
