Mary Aspinwall is encouraged to know that the lessons that she helped to translate for a people group in Southeast Asia mainland were taught in June and were very well received. Hearing “the story” (58 lessons mapped out for teaching through the Bible from eternity past to eternity future, taught as one) like that isn’t always experienced, it helps to keep God’s heart and focus in mind which increases understanding and accurate application. Those lessons will be revised and used at the NTM national missionary training centre in Southeast Asia mainland as well.
Now living at the missions training centre in Missouri, USA, Mary will be welcoming the students/candidates who will be arriving there this week. Of the forty or so who will be arriving for the new class, Mary along with two staff families will be spending lots of time with three of the families as well as three single ladies and one single guy. Also, Mary will be mentoring one of the ladies. They are looking forward to getting to know this group and are praying that they will be able to pour their hearts and lives into them in preparation for their going out to the various areas of service. This will be new territory for her, and she would appreciate your prayers for sensitivity to God’s leading as she seeks to be a blessing to them. She will also be helping three mornings a week caring for the children of the candidates.
August 7th marks a year since Mary’s dear husband Clark graduated to Glory. Remembering last year fills a lot of her thoughts, but she is also dwelling on the many blessings of being his bride for 41 years. God’s faithfulness and care continue to be evident in so many ways.
