The last few weeks have found Ragnar and Elizabeth Niclasen, who serve in the Philippines, with a group of Kankanaey believers in six different areas. What joy they had to see their brothers and sisters growing in their walk with the Lord! They enjoyed each weekend, but it was especially meaningful to be with their ‘spiritual children’ in the village where they had previously lived.
One of the first believers there in 1986 has never wavered in her faith and Ragnar and Elizabeth are encouraged to see her grow. This lady has been faithful in gathering with the believers each week, taking her three daughters with her, as well as being a good example and teaching the girls at home. Today, all three daughters have a close walk with the Lord. Pray for her unsaved husband.
Recently, Ragnar and Elizabeth, along with six men (from four different churches), spent a weekend in the village. As they were sitting around in one of their homes on the Saturday night, one of the men who went with them – a church leader, asked the ladies present if they would share the narrative of Genesis to Christ’s ascension. After the regular answers of, “Oh, it would be too hard,” “I couldn’t possibly do that,” and “I would need time to prepare” etc., the lady and her three daughters took on the challenge. They all did an amazing job. Without notes or time to prepare, they were able to flawlessly share the story of Christ, from beginning to end. Super exciting and challenging!
Heartfelt thanks to all of you who have been praying for the believers in that village for many years!
