Last week Steve watched over and did school with the kids on Thursday and Friday so Gerdine could get some more language learning time in. She arranged with a family from the village to go with them on a hike over to a garden area a little down the mountain for the day on Thursday. God provided things He didn’t need to provide for example sunny weather the whole day, so the paths weren’t slippery.
Most importantly, she was able to do a lot of chatting in Kovol, getting some new recordings of phrases, and a couple of interviews one on parenting – a good topic, since later on when there is a church, this will be a topic she will be talking about with her new sisters in Christ.
She is also very thankful to have more context of different place names in the area. When people say, I go down to …, she now has a better idea of what their hike there looks like and how far away it is, etc.
Continue to pray for the Kovol team and for prepared hearts.
