Stephen and Ginger Jordan recently celebrated the fourth Anniversary of Faith Bible Church with the Agutaynen believers*.
Sadly, whilst they were back in the USA on home assignment last summer, Stephen and Ginger heard that there was some discord among the believers. From the time of their return in October, they have desired to see reconciliation and unity among the believers. The anniversary celebration was a step in that direction.
The theme that Stephen chose was “Love One Another.” During this challenge, many of the believers read passages that contained the phrase “Love one another,” beginning with Jesus, and then many exhortations from Paul, Peter, and John.
“Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” 1 John 3:18
Pray that all the believers will obey this exhortation and truly love one another.
The celebration ended with a “bring and share” meal with some of their favourite foods, including pansit (a Filipino noodle dish), sticky rice, and chocolate cake (provided by Ginger and daughter, Becky). Other treats that Filipinos love were brought for the feast, a great way to complete the event.
Please pray for this group of believers, that they would truly, and whole-heartedly, love one another.
Please pray for an evangelistic outreach they are planning for the elementary students in their location. The principal of the school seemed very receptive to their invitation, and chose the date for the event to take place at Faith Bible Church. Please pray that the message will be clear and received by all.
Please pray for leadership in the local church and for unity among the elders and the people. They are currently looking for qualified men to become the first deacons.
