Recently, Jezekiel and Anna Van Der Decker who serve among the Mian people of Papua New Guinea made a three week visit with their young son to the USA. After two and a half years of waiting, Anna’s green card was finally approved and activated, necessitating the trip.
During the visit they were grateful to have a family reunion with all of Jezekiel’s siblings for the first time in over eleven years!
Please pray for changing dynamics in their team. Their German co-workers have extended family health issues keeping them in Germany for an indefinite time, so they have told the team to find other co-workers Please pray for the team in conversations with their new co-workers.
Due to the airstrip in the village being too soft and requiring extensive work, the team has pivoted to allocating via an airstrip down river. The team’s aluminium boat they plan to use to help with travel and moving supplies (ordered from the USA and designed specifically for this type of river) has met unexpected delays in shipping. Please pray it arrives soon!
Please pray as the team hopes/plans to set the foundation for one to two houses for the team next month. It seems a drought caused by El Nino is resulting in much lower river levels which may affect their ability to transport building supplies at this time. They are trusting the Lord for a productive trip!
Jezekiel and Anna testify that, “Even when things don’t go according to our plans, we can trust our Heavenly Father who is in control and who knows what is best for His glory and our good.”
They really appreciate your prayers! Things are definitely not going according to their plans. Please pray that they would see the Lord in all of this!
