He suffered

Ron and Michelle Jennings who serve among the Higaunon people of the Philippines were recently out in town for some supply buying but also to attend the regional mini conference. It was a very refreshing time of being ministered to from the Word and fellowship with their mission co-workers. They were out of their village for six days.

A little while ago Michelle was working on reformatting some of the teaching lessons so that they can be used on phones. This section was a huge reminder of what Jesus suffered when he came into this world to redeem mankind. Michelle says, “Sometimes we feel that our suffering is hard to deal with, but it is nothing compared to what He suffered on our behalf.”

Here are 20 points that they have in their lesson, but there are probably many more:

  1. He suffered being born into this world as a baby for the sins of mankind.
  2. He suffered the missing of His heavenly home.
  3. He suffered being amongst a world of decay and death.
  4. He suffered being tempted by Satan.
  5. He suffered being humiliated by those He came to save.
  6. He suffered the unbelief of those around Him.
  7. He suffered the persecution from those in high places.
  8. He suffered the foolishness of those who rejected the truth.
  9. He suffered the anger of people against Him.
  10. He suffered the betrayal of one of His close companions.
  11. He suffered the turning away of some of His disciples.
  12. He suffered the accusations that were not true.
  13. He suffered the condemnation for sins that were not His.
  14. He suffered the pain of being whipped by the Romans.
  15. He suffered being nailed to a cross.
  16. He suffered the ruin of His physical body.
  17. He suffered the foolish sneers of people.
  18. He suffered the shame of sins that were not His.
  19. He suffered the separation from His Father God.
  20. He suffered dying and the punishment for our sins.

May God continually remind us of how blessed we are having been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb!

Please pray for the Higaunon church leadership as they deal with some difficult areas, things they have not had to deal with in the past.  Ron is working with them to come up with some teaching materials to address these issues.

Ron continues to move slowly ahead with Ezekiel and Michelle continues to work on reformatting lessons for their phones.

They have both been keeping pretty well apart from the usual aches and pains that come with getting older, but they are so blessed to still be able to function in the village and are thankful every morning to be able to get up and continue on with the ministry. Your prayers are such a big part in all of this, please keep them before the Lord in prayer.
