He gives power to the faint

It has been a busy few months for Barnabas, Tabea and daughter Amelie. They have been challenged and encouraged in various ways. One thing that has stuck in their minds is that God is the one who gives them strength and enables them to do the things that they do. Throughout the last few months, they have felt both blessed and stressed but through it all God has remained faithful, giving them the strength that they need for each day.

They are very thankful that Tabea passed the “Life in the UK Test” and an English test, both necessary in applying for UK citizenship, which means she is one step further in the application process! They are also thankful for a small group “Base Team” that has been formed, who they will meet with more regularly before heading to Mexico.

In June they had the privilege of attending and sharing the Make a Difference Conference at North Cotes. This was a time of real blessing and encouraging conversations. A few days after the conference, they travelled to Germany to see Tabea’s family, enjoying a much-needed break. Reconnecting with friends and family was a huge blessing. They were able to share about their plans in two different churches and Barnabas preached for the first time in German!

A week after returning from Germany, they set off for yet another adventure: camping in the Lake District for two weeks! Barnabas manned the NTM stall at the Keswick Convention for the second of those weeks. He had many good conversations, and their prayer is that God would use those seeds that were sown for His glory!

In the next few months, they are invited to speak at several churches which is really encouraging to them!

As they look to the future, they are very aware that moving to Mexico is getting closer everyday (only six months to go). This leaves them both excited and a bit terrified, there is still so much to do in terms of admin for Tabea’s citizenship, visas for Mexico, flights, packing, and a whole host of other things. With travel planned to visit family, friends and other churches, it can all seem a bit overwhelming. God is the one who gives them strength, and His power is made perfect in their weakness. (Isaiah 40:28-29)

Giving thanks:

• For the churches who have invited them to share about Mexico.

• For having been able to visit friends and family in Germany!

• That Tabea passed the necessary tests and is one step closer to applying for citizenship.

Prayer points:

•  For all the travel over the coming months and that God would prepare their hearts for (finally) moving to Mexico.

• For wisdom and strength as they parent Amelie.

• For their walk with the Lord.

Thank you for all your prayers for Barnabas, Tabea and Amelie.
