Growing pains

The Dinangat church is feeling the pain of growth. The Bible teachers are tired and are neglecting their responsibilities. The Monday meetings are often very small. Some of the Bible teachers struggle in their marriages. Many in the church do. In the neighbouring village church are several struggling marriages. It takes a lot to be humble and to apologise to the other and to forgive. Ephesians 4:15 says, “…we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ…”.
In a recent Monday meeting all those struggles were on the agenda. The Bible teachers see the problems and want to change. They want to grow themselves and see the church grow as well.
One of the leaders talked with Ralf later about the Dinangat churches and wants to pass on the following prayer request to those reading the Schlegel’s update: “We from the Dinangat church have learned so much from the Bible and yet we are not living by what we know. Often we act as if we were not even Christians. Please pray that God would change us and that we would become more and more like Christ. Please also pray for us Bible teachers that we would know how to best help the church to live according to God’s Word. Thank you!”
Ralf and Elli are thankful for prayers for the last translation check in February. It went really well! After a few corrections they will be able to print 1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy.
Ralf and Elli also had a wonderful time with their girls while out in town. Saying good bye was hard again but thankfully the girls will be home for the Easter break. Also the Markleys, Ralf and Elli’s co-workers, will be with them in Dinangat during that time.
Thank you so much for your prayers for the Schlegels and the Dinangat church!
“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Phil.1:6
