Growing in the Word

A team from a church in the USA ran a vacation Bible school (VBS) for all the children, a ladies luncheon and shared some super encouraging messages with them from the Word. A sweet time of fellowship and growing in the Word was had by all!

Since Jeremiah and April and family are now living on the mission centre, they joined in helping the full-time support team co-ordinate the conference. Jordan helped lead worship, April helped coordinate nursery for the babies, Judah assisted the VBS team and Jeremiah among other things, co-ordinated the daily transportation schedule. It was a busy week, but they are so grateful for such a great team to work with!

Now it is back to business as usual! Jeremiah’s travelling will slow down this term and he is making good progress on the Gospels in the Dinangat language. Their co-worker, Ralf Schlegel’s, consultant check on eight New Testament books went very well and they are now able to get those checked books into the hands of the Dinangat people for which they praise the Lord! Pray with them for the Lord’s wisdom and that this project would continue to go smoothly so that they can get more and more Scripture into their hands as soon as possible!

The team are also thanking the Lord for some real growth that they have seen among their Dinangat brothers and sisters! They went in for some time in October to check translation with several helpers. In that time they heard stories of healed relationships within leadership, repentant hearts and forgiveness extended. One dear sister stood up in front of everyone and exclaimed her thankfulness to the Lord for her sisters in Christ and for how hard-working they are and is breaking the cultural moulds with her love for the Lord. Pray that this outpouring of His love will become the cultural ‘norm’! This small body of believers is not without its growing pains, bumps, bruises, mistakes along the way, but the point is that they are growing!

Jeremiah and April thank you for standing with them in prayer! They could not be serving in PNG without the Body of Christ working as a team to see His name lifted up in that corner of the world!
