Greatly blessed

Philip and Vina le Roux who serve among the Agutaya people in the Philippines are praising the Lord for His goodness. The church building is at roof height! The floor is ready for the cement to be poured, and the wood for the roof beams is being planed and treated. The stage and the steps are complete too. Thanks to the generosity of others, they were able to purchase lights, standing fans, and various building supplies that hopefully will arrive on the island soon.

Over many years the Lord has blessed them greatly with opportunities to help the community with building school rooms. The first one was on the island where they serve back in 2018. Then, in 2023, they built a school room on another island with the generous gift from a dear friend and brother in Christ. Later in the year, they added a second classroom, which is now the only school building standing after this year’s typhoon, which wreaked havoc on Agutaya. Another two school rooms are planned to be built on yet another island. What a joy to know that almost 200 children will then have a safe place to go to school!

Philip and Vina hope to build a Christian school on Agutaya, where they can reach the many children with the Gospel using a faith-based education that will build a firm foundation rooted in truth. The idea has been received positively by a local dignitary whose son – a teacher – has offered to get the paperwork required to register a school. This seems so overwhelming when they think of what still needs to be accomplished. Pray for wisdom from the Lord and that He will only allow what is according to His perfect will.

Two of the men that Philip and Vina had the privilege of seeing come to faith eleven years ago are now students at a school of theology. One is considering full-time ministry!

In April their son married, currently he and his wife are enrolled at the Ethnos360 missionary training centre and preparing for full-time missions. They have almost completed their first term and are praying about where the Lord will have them serve after their training in 2027. Pray that the Lord will provide and guide.

Prayer requests:

  • For the Farm Church in South Africa, for protection for the Pastor and his wife, as they live in a dangerous area, as well as a continued desire to serve the Lord faithfully.
  • For the church building in Agutaya. Pray the Lord will be glorified!
  • For the many members of the church this typhoon season. Pray for safety and minimal damage.
  • For their sister in the Lord, that her family will allow her to have Bible study at her home again.
  • Pray for Philip and Vina to remain faithful in serving the Lord and that their children will serve Him wholeheartedly.
  • Pray for the men as they continue their theology studies.
