Last month the Lamogai people of Papua New Guinea received the first copies of the complete Bible in their heart language, the Old and New Testaments in a single volume. It was a time of great celebration.
Since the Lamogai language group is divided by a large mountain range, they had two separate days of celebration so everyone could attend. One celebration for the northern villages, and another for the southern villages. Several hundred believers attended each celebration. It took ten airplane flights and ten helicopter flights to get all the outside visitors in and out of the two locations. God graciously gave favorable weather, which they are very grateful for, since Lamogai averages 18 feet of rain annually (more than 200 inches). A beautiful rainbow embraced the airstrip.
Dave and Nancy Brunn had a wonderful reunion with precious Lamogai brothers and sisters in Christ. Some of them they have known for over 45 years. Many of their Lamogai friends have gone on to be with the Lord ahead of them. They look forward to joining them someday for a much bigger reunion, and a much more magnificent celebration that will last forever.
Dave and Nancy are thankful for each of their coworkers and the huge role they played in evangelising, discipling, and planting strong churches among the Lamogai people, and in helping see the Lamogai Bible project through to completion.
