It was a joy for David and Christine Baxter, who serve at the mission’s school in Mexico, to celebrate with the one high school and four junior high students that graduated this year.
The end of school year was very busy, and they are thankful for prayer. As the ‘Graduation Advisor,’ it was Christine’s pleasure to work with the graduates as they wrapped up all the details of their graduation ceremony.
Other highlights of the school year were: David sharing with the kids in the opening assembly.
The first and second graders impressive memorisation of a passage from Ephesians 6 on the whole armour of God.
The science class who enjoyed pacing out the relative distances of the solar system based on the scale where the Earth is the size of a peppercorn! The distance to Pluto landed them, conveniently, at a local restaurant where they all enjoyed a special lunch.
After graduation David and Christine headed to the biannual ‘Field Conference’ and had a great time of fellowship as well as catching up on what the Lord is doing in Mexico. David did a presentation on one of the areas he is heading up. Christine along with her teammates provided translation for all the sessions. David and Christine were also given certificates recognising their years of service with the mission. During the closing prayers at the conference each person up front prayed in their own language: Spanish, Tarahumara, Tepehuán, Tzeltal, Guarajío and low German (a Mennonite dialect used in Chihuahua). It was very special and a taste of “every tribe, tongue and nation” around the throne of God as in Revelation 7:9.

More labourers; the harvest is plentiful (Matt. 9:37-38). There are so many needs; with at least 110 dialects in the Mexican state of Oaxaca alone.
For David and his maintenance team as they attempt to complete projects over the summer break.
Christine’s school prep as she gets things in place before leaving for the USA.
