Glorify the Lord

Sasch and Charissa Schwendich with Ruben, Judah, Hosanna and Zadok who serve in Asia-Pacific, have now returned to Buru. After two months in the city for a literacy workshop, they were looking forward to being home again. Travel regulations made things a little stressful for thern so they were thankful for prayer.

By the time the literacy workshop ended, they had produced a set of six primers and six graded readers that will be very helpful for teaching literacy to the Buru people. Thank you for praying.

After the workshop concluded, they took some much needed days off to spend with the kids. They also attended the wedding of their co-worker. She joined the Buru team at about the same time as them and it has been a blessing serving alongside her. Since her husband has not gone through the mission training yet they will be spending a few years in Bible and missions training, and then they plan to re-join the ministry among the Buru people.

Please pray for the Buru church. Currently people are working at a goldmine and very few people are left in the village, mostly a few women and children. Please pray that people would glorify the Lord, wherever they are living.

Pray for the ministry that has started for the kids from the village who are attending school in another village. For the time being they have rented a house to serve as a dorm but last year they also bought land to build a larger, permanent dorm. Paperwork is still ongoing, but they have started working on the grounds already. Since the area is subject to flooding most years, the first stage of this building project consists of filling in the land and building a retaining wall around it to protect the property and the dorm they plan to build there. As the property is large, even this first stage will require a fair amount of funds. Hopefully they can finish the first stage before the next flood and protect all the filled in dirt from washing away. Pray that they will have the necessary funds to make this project a reality.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, according to the purpose of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace with which He has blessed us in the Beloved. Ephesians 1:3-6
