Flight training

God continues to bless Simon, Jenny and family in many ways as they spend time in the USA for Simon to complete the extra flight training that he will need to serve as a missionary pilot.

To keep his flight certificates current on the mission field, it is easier for Simon to have an American commercial and instrument certificate. In April he had an oral and practical exam for each certificate, and they are thankful to the Lord that he passed all.

Ethnos360 Aviation has a Kodiak simulator on campus – the type of aeroplane that is flown on the mission field – Simon will get about 40 hours of instruction as preparation in this simulator. To get a feeling for flying a helicopter, Simon also had five hours of helicopter instruction.

Since they are staying in the USA until mid-August and they want to use the time to the greatest benefit Simon is preparing for an American flight instructor certificate. The exams will be at the end of July, and he has some practical and theoretical preparation to do.

In early May, they had the privilege of spending three days with friends, who had been in missions training with them and who are already serving in Mexico. It was an encouraging, meaningful and loving time!

Jenny has just completed her weekly classes. During those sessions, their children spent time in childcare which they greatly enjoyed and it helped them to improve their English.

Once a week as a couple Simon and Jenny meet with another couple from campus and are blessed by the spiritual input they receive through them sharing their experiences with the Lord.

Currently they are in discussion with the mission regarding the possible country where they will serve. Pray for the application process, interviews and final decision.
