Paul and Marina Briggs praise the Lord that the final consultant check on the revised version of Mark’s Gospel in the Loron language began this morning (Sept 23rd) in West Africa. The original draft was developed over thirty years ago and since then many improvements have been made to increase the accuracy and clarity of the text. The translation team members will also verify the contents of a new glossary for the Loron New Testament, as well as check footnotes and biblical terminology with the translation consultant.
Pray for Pastor Donald as he leads the team, and for Idda who has travelled from Switzerland to work with the team over the next four weeks, or so. Many, many months of preparation have gone into getting ready for this checking period and Paul and Marina thank the Lord for all that they have been able to accomplish through emails, a messaging app, and phone conversations.
Currently they are working on sending a consignment of several thousand Loron-language Scripture portions and commentaries to be shipped to the Loron people in Ivory Coast in the next few weeks. Pray for all the necessary planning and logistics.
Paul and Marina are very thankful for your prayers and encouragement. They really appreciate your interest and involvement in reaching the Loron people of West Africa with the ‘unsearchable riches of Christ’.
