Experiencing mission

The weekend before Easter, Koen and Anne-Laure Verdonck were in England for the annual mission conference “Reach.” Over two hundred participants between the ages of 18 and 30 heard testimonies from: missionaries preparing to go out to the field, those training African missionaries in Senegal, church planters in Africa, a representative for Romania, a completed work in Papua New Guinea, someone doing language study in Southeast Asia, support work in Asia-Pacific, and the missions aviation ministry.

It was a vibrant weekend with music, visuals, singing, a game, a cultural moment, a quiz, and testimonies. The Lord has provided Koen and Anne-Laure with six VR headsets (virtual reality), which were used constantly during the coffee breaks. In this way, participants could, as it were, experience the mission field in Asia-Pacific, the Philippines, and Papua New Guinea. They also gave a presentation about Aviation.

Good news from PNG is that one of the pilots has completed his final checks and is authorised to fly the R66 helicopter solo in Papua New Guinea. The third helicopter for Papua New Guinea is ready to ship.

On May 23rd, Koen and Anne-Laure are organising a missions evening in Genk, Belgium. Pray that God will be honoured.

Praise for what He is doing in PNG and at the ‘Connect’ centre in Belgium, where they serve with a team that desires to motivate, encourage, and equip Christians to have a strong and healthy walk with the Lord.

The Lord has faithfully provided for Koen and Anne-Laure over the past months, and they are deeply grateful. They really appreciate the supportive churches that stand behind them. It is a great encouragement to them. Belgium truly is a country with great spiritual need. Many know Jesus, but there is often no clear purpose between the moment of conversion and eternity.

Koen is practicing his exercises diligently and hoping that his tennis elbow will soon heal.

It is a great joy for them to have some of their children living closer. They look forward to welcoming their son and family who serve in PNG when they visit Belgium in June.

Thank you for your continued prayers.
