Ragnar and Elizabeth who are currently on home assignment in Canada, recently had news from their brother in the Lord in Nayba, Philippines. A widow from a village about a seven-hour hike away sent a message asking him if some of the believers from Nayba would visit for a day of fellowship. About 30 people went over to spend time with and encourage their lonely sister in the Lord, lots of singing, sharing from the Word and enjoying a big meal together. What an encouragement it was to her. She had even arranged for a vehicle to pick them up and take them home again.
Thank you for your prayers that help Ragnar and Elizabeth to press on with their work among the Kankanaey people. A couple of weeks ago they were thankful to be able to send a package to the Philippines with edited lessons on the book of Acts. One copy each for their three Filipino co-workers. They are trusting it will give the men time to read and mull over them, so that as soon as Ragnar and Elizabeth are able to return they can dive right into the editing process with them. Since there is no mail service in Nayba, they sent it to the mission’s office in Manila. When it arrives there, they can send it to the market in the closest town to Nayba. A lady Ragnar and Elizabeth know has a coconut stall there, and she can keep it until the next time one of the men is in town. This is a trail which they are trusting will work.
