Encouraging

Thank you for praying for Ragnar and Elizabeth as they uprooted from the Kankanaey village in the Philippines and settled in Baguio the nearest town. They are happy for the home the Lord provided, which is in the same neighbourhood where they lived from 2014 to 2020. They were familiar with the area and already knew several of their neighbours. The house came furnished, so it didn’t take them long to settle in.

It has been wonderful to see how the believers have grown in their walk with the Lord. In His strength alone.

Ragnar has been able to make a couple of trips over to the village (a three hour drive each way) in the last few weeks. The first time a tree was cut down to make space for the Mission’s helicopter to land in their yard. The tree was cut into lumber to be used in the new church building located about an hour’s hike down the mountain.

On the second trip Ragnar attended the Annual Kankanaey Believer’s Conference. It was an encouraging time for him, studying God’s Word with the believers from several areas where the Mission has worked. There were roughly 200 adults attending. Elizabeth had planned to go with him, via helicopter, when they thought the meetings were to be held in the church, which is also in their yard. However, when the venue was changed, at the last minute, to the school building (which is much larger) her plans also had to change because of the hike up and down the mountain. Maybe next year?

Together Ragnar and Elizabeth have been able to enjoy fellowship with friends in the new church recently started in their area of Baguio– attending the afternoon services as well as sharing at their prayer meeting, and men’s and ladies’ meetings respectively, as well as the Third Anniversary service.

Continue to pray for Elizabeth who daily experiences pain in her knee and thigh. They have been to many doctors, and she has had lots of tests etc., but the root cause is yet to be determined.
