Conforming to His image

In 2022 the Maliyali people of Papua New Guinea heard the redemptive story of Scripture for the first time in their language. This was an intense three months of teaching four times a week for 50 lessons at the end of which, through the power of the Spirit, the Maliyali church was born!

Since then, the baby church has crawled through Acts, taken their first steps through Ephesians, toddled through Romans, and matured on through 1 Corinthians, and Job.

At the beginning of last year, the missionary team trained ten of the strongest Maliyali believing men to begin teaching through simplified outlines of the initial Creation-to-Christ Gospel lessons. Their hope has been that the Lord would use these lessons to strengthen the believers as they hear, again, of the character of God throughout His redemptive story, and that the Lord would save those who did not hear the Gospel teaching the first time (or heard it but did not believe).

Chad Earl has been team teaching with these men, and on Sunday they taught on Jesus’ crucifixion. On Easter Sunday they taught the resurrection lesson and call to look only to Him.

Pray for the salvation of the souls of those who have not yet trusted in Him alone for salvation and for the continued growth of the 78 members that have covenanted together as the local representation of Christ’s body in this slice of dense jungle mountainside in Maliyali.

The world, the flesh, and the devil have made some significant attacks on the body since its birth, but God is faithful to grow His church by the preaching of the Word and He will complete the work He has begun until the day of Christ Jesus.

Praise God with Chad and Martha Earl for His faithfulness to use His living and active Word to conform His children to the image of His Son! Pray He would continue to do that more and more in their lives as well as the lives of the Maliyali people of Papua New Guinea.

Thank you for partnership through prayer.
