Ben and Tabea who serve in Asia-Pacific are encouraged by the progress on house building in the village where they plan to move to as a team.
In the last couple of months, team members have travelled to the village three times. Each time they were able to give instructions for house building and pay for materials and give wages.
They were also able to meet with some of the people from the mountains who happened to be working in the banana plantation while they were there.
The roads on the island are challenging, and so when Ben found a 4×4 with a crew cab for a bargain price, he did a lot of research and decided it was worth the risk even though it needed so much work. They now have a very capable truck.
Ben and a co-worker were recently invited to a church elders’ conference hosted by the Taliabu church. It was good for them to be able to see such a mature and established tribal church.
While at the conference they met with the aviation team to discuss flight support on the island they are moving to. Support from the Kodiak and helicopter would be particularly crucial when they are living in the mountains, maybe within a couple of years after learning the tribal language on the coast.
Praise Points:
- Good progress on the house building
- For the new truck and that the repairs have been completed
- For the conference, fellowship, and meeting with the aviation team
Prayer Points:
- That the house building continues to go smoothly
- For more national co-workers on their team (the young family that visited have decided to serve at the training centre for now)
- That they can sell the old car
