Busy, yet blessed

The news that their property owner needed to sell her apartment, their home and base for nearly six years, was so very unexpected and unsettling. They had to find a new place very quickly, and move in sixty days, all between their two USA trips. Their daughter Sonya, her husband John and family travelled from the USA to help us with this huge move and were a real blessing.

Although very weary from all this, upon arriving back in the UK, Thom and Carolyn travelled to North Cotes for the NTM UK weekend missions conference. Then Thom taught the “Firm Foundations – Creation to Christ” course for nearly five weeks to the Bible school students at North Cotes College. Pray for Thom and Carolyn as they prepare to teach the “Each One REACH One – Each One TEACH One” module later this month.

Once Thom and Carolyn arrived home and were able to have a few brief weeks to make a small start in the huge and continuing task, of unpacking. They are beginning to get a bit more settled and organised in their nice new home and base for ministry in the farming village of Innerwick, situated nearly 35 miles from Edinburgh. They enjoyed a much-needed holiday during the wonderful visit of Carolyn’s brother and wife, Wayne and Pam, showing them some sights in London and York, and many places around beautiful Scotland.

Thom and Carolyn praise the Lord for the growth in their Thursdays “Discovery” – community Bible study at their local church base in the city, and for the faithful witness of several in the group, and the desire of a few to organise their own evangelistic home Bible study, using the “Stranger on the Road to Emmaus” video series.
Pray for renewed ministry and discipleship among their Chinese friends and young students.

From mid-September and throughout all of October Thom and Carolyn have found themselves taking meetings in churches, attending representatives meetings, getting back into their ministry and teaching routines and unpacking yet more and more boxes, and setting up their office and household. Pray for wisdom in dealing with some on-going computer problems, and new equipment needs and for the Lord’s continued enablement and strength, as they are very weary from this busy year!
