It is rainy season where Phil and Vina Le Roux serve among the people in Agutaya, the Philippines, which brings with it cooler days, lots of much-needed water, but also lots of building challenges. Despite this, they have made great progress on the church building. So much of the important work in the building goes into the foundation. They want this church to stand for many years and be able to weather the many storms that lie ahead (both figuratively and literally!). They are now starting to see the walls built up and it is encouraging for them to see their vision coming to life! The Lord has graciously supplied some funds to continue with the building for now and hope to be able to at least get the outside “shell” of the church completed in one go so that it does not deteriorate while they wait on funds. Praise Him for those who generously gave towards this project! The building is a double blessing as all the workers are fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who are being blessed with the much-needed work to sustain their families.
Phil and Vina’s hearts are so encouraged by God’s gracious answer to prayer for funds for Farm Church in South Africa. Praise Him that brothers and sisters in Christ at the church can continue to gather to worship the Lord every week. Please continue to pray for them.
Taking a trip to the city to buy personal supplies (food, medicines, etc.) and some building supplies that could only be bought in the bigger cities was supposed to be a quick trip but ended up being longer due to travel difficulties. It is easy to get frustrated when things do not go to plan. However, the delay was an opportunity to serve in the waiting. Phil gave the Gospel to two men that he met. Please pray for these men who are searching, and both now know the truth, that they will surrender their lives to the Lord.
While they were away, the believers continued to step up and serve in various ministries. it is a delight to Phil and Vina to see the ladies, men, and children faithfully meeting and sharing as well as learning the Word.
Prayer requests:
- Pray for the church building in Agutaya to continue as the Lord supplies, and for the Lord to raise up many believers to fill the new building.
- Pray for Agutaya Bible Church to be a beacon of light on Agutaya and to reach the many lost on the island.
- Pray for Phil and Vina’s children, that the Lord will use them mightily in His name.
- Pray for the family of one of the believers to allow her to hold Bible Studies at her home again.
- Pray for the Farm Church. Pray that they will share their faith with those around them, and many will come to salvation.
- Pray for Phil and Vina to be useful, willing instruments in the Lord’s hands, willing to give all to Him.
