Back to work!

Robert and Rosemarie Baghurst are so thankful to have safely returned from more than 6,000 miles travelling across a dozen different States, visiting dear friends, many who support them in some way. Some were in training with them in the early 1980’s, and some they have trained in recent years.

They were able to visit former co-workers that they served with in Ivory Coast. The wife of this couple has had four chemo treatments, she undergoes surgery for her cancer on August 16th.

Robert and Rosemarie are so grateful for all those who hosted them. God also provided two very unexpected opportunities to share on two of the Sundays in the churches they visited. Pray that God will continue to encourage and challenge those they met. Please pray He will raise up more labourers for the mission field.

Another wonderful opportunity they had was to visit former students who now train pilots  and were given  a grand tour of the facilities from which many go on to fly on the mission field or are doing mechanics for the planes and helicopters. Please pray for the safety of all our aviation missionaries around the world, to always be alert and aware of any danger be it on equipment or with the weather….

Robert and Rosemarie have  now started back at work, and after a month on the road they have a lot of catching up to do. Classes recommence on Tuesday and Rosemarie’s classes begin the following day for the returning students and the following Monday in orientation with the new students. There are other responsibilities, so they value your prayer as they get ready for this new term and academic year at the Ethnos360 Training Centre.

Part of Rosemarie’s role is to keep people informed regarding missionary’s prayer needs, aptly named Hold the Ropes, HTR. She asks for your continued prayer for those teaching in the Philippines and West Africa for the very first time ever:

– For faithful attendance.

– The health of the missionaries along with their family responsibilities.

– For God’s work in hearts and lives as they hear His truth for the first time.

– For the weather (teaching is often in the open so impossible on rainy days).

– For conversations, answering questions around fears and doubts…

– To have love for the people and sensitivity to His leading.

Pray for those teaching literacy in SE Africa and Colombia:

– For faithful attendance.

–  For clear communication and explanations.

–  The ability to read and write their own languages.

– Enthusiasm on the part of teachers and students alike.

– Good health and the demands of time for the mothers teaching and caring for their families (dad’s usually working on translation etc.)

Pray for clear understanding and a growing anticipation, seeing God’s plan unfold. And pray that God’s truth sinks deep, far beyond head knowledge or just another religious practice.

Robert and Rosemarie are thrilled to have a small part in the Gospel going to unreached and least reached people groups around this world.
