Back in Maliyali

For Chad and Martha Earl, it is sweet to be back home in Maliyali, Papua New Guinea.

Seeing the fruit of their co-workers, the Trotts, faithfulness over the last six months alone in the village, was wonderful. They have made great progress in the language and have been a great help to the church. the Maliyali men have been leading the Sunday service every week using teaching outlines produced by the missionaries. There is still a long road ahead to see the church come to maturity, however, the Maliyali teachers practice on Saturday and then lead the entire service on Sunday. Praise God for the work He has done, and is doing, in these men’s lives.

The adversary the devil does not sit idly by as Christ’s church grows. Just in the first week of their return Chad and Martha have had conversations with believers over marital disputes, false accusations amongst each other, a believer feeling pulled to join back to the old cult, gross infidelity and abandonment, etc. Please pray that Christ’s bride would be made beautiful in Maliyali.

PRAISE & PRAYER REQUESTS

  1. The Maliyali church:
  • Praise God for sustaining His church and for the growth in the eight Maliyali teachers.
  • Pray that the Lord would guard them from pride and that they would grow in love for Christ and His bride. Pray also for restoration for the two men removed as teachers for unfaithfulness. One is showing a desire to be restored.
  • Pray for the Maliyali women to desire to study God’s Word, for more to attend the weekly prayer meeting and for them to grow in their ability to read.
  • Pray that they would see gathering together as the most important time of their week.
  1. The missionary team:
  • Praise God for the Trotts’ faithfulness and progress in language. Pray for continued progress and encouragement in the work.
  • Pray for their co-workers the Muellers as they transition their two oldest children to the USA over this next year.
  • Pray for wisdom and unity in marriage and as a team as they seek to guide Christ’s church.
