The cultivator must feed and water a plant that will not produce for the first couple of years! During harvest time the work is done mostly by hand and very quickly, otherwise the vegetable dries out. Mission work is labour-intensive too – language and culture study, relationship building, translation work, practical help, literacy, proclaiming the Gospel, … and to make sure that the new believer doesn´t “dry out” it is important to disciple, encourage and equip him for ministry. It´s not enough to just give access to the Gospel, but rather “make disciples”.
People live in different environments too. Some live in dark, hard and difficult places. How can Christians grow in difficult places, where most of them die, flee or get imprisoned as soon as they confess Christ?
Please pray for overseas workers in hard places and pray for the persecuted church. Also praise God for the few followers of Christ who live in hostile environments and pray that they will find a way to fellowship together and grow in the Lord.
Pray for Regina’s last two months in Germany, that she will be able adjust to life in Senegal and build bridges of trust and friendship with the people there. Also pray that Regina will grow to be a disciple and obey God.
John 3:5 Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers.
