On returning to Germany after finishing their training at North Cotes College Friedhelm and Marie had their first candidate day, where they got to know the German team of Ethnos360 (NTM) a bit better. They enjoyed seeing other candidates who they knew from the training in England. At the beginning of October they will have a candidate week, and they are excited about what they will learn.
At the beginning of the month they were able to move into a new apartment in the house of Marie’s aunt and uncle. They are thankful for this opportunity, especially as the apartment is in the same village as their sending church and where Marie’s family lives.
Together with two other men Friedhelm is leading a Bible course that gives an overview of most of the Bible. They take turns leading the sessions. It is going well, and they are already halfway through the lessons. There are approximately 15 people who are joining every week for about two hours.
This month they put in their application to serve as missionaries in Asia-Pacific and are trusting that the Lord will guide and lead. Now they are waiting for an interview with the Asia-Pacific field leadership.
They were able to host a meeting for people from their church who are interested to join their base team which will support them from Germany when they are on the field. It was a really encouraging time. Pray that a good team will form and all the roles to be filled.
They also attended a meeting held by Ethnos360 Germany, where churches met to talk about missions in general. They enjoyed meeting more Ethnos360 members, and representatives of different churches who support missionaries.
Marie’s pregnancy is going well, and they are looking forward to the birth of their son at the end of December. Their daughter is no longer a baby but a toddler. She loves to play with her Playmobil dolls house and listen to books being read. She also likes to visit children’s clubs or play with her cousins or other children.
Pray for the Lord’s provision for them as a family at they anticipate moving to a field of service.
