More than six years ago, many of the Kaze people of Papua New Guinea heard the grand story of the Bible for the first time and started putting their trust in God. Christopher and Lilli Meyer have had the privilege of watching them grow in their faith.
As a missionary team they want to encourage the Kaze church to take on more responsibility. Therefore, at the end of May, they “moved out” of the Kaze village, at least for a few months. Their family will be living at the mission base in Wewak (where they lived in 2018 before moving into Kaze) instead of in the village until October.
They hope this time without missionaries will help the Kaze church take another step towards being dependent on the Lord. During this time Christopher will mainly be working on Bible translation from Wewak. After these months, along with their co-workers, the Myers, they plan to move back into the village for a while to encourage and support the church there and that before too long they will be able to appoint local church elders.
Currently, Christopher is in Germany with their eldest two children for some planned medical appointments which have gone well. Their homeschool helper, finished her time in PNG and travelled with them. Soon the three of them will fly back to PNG, and they can’t wait to be together as a family again.
In August, their new homeschool helper plans to join them for the coming school year. They would really appreciate your prayers as she is still waiting for her visa.
As a family, they are doing really well. Looking back over this past year since they returned to PNG in August 2025, they are so thankful for the way they have seen God’s grace at work in each of their children’s lives. It’s been such a joy! Christopher and Lilli feel so privileged to serve side by side in God’s kingdom.
