Accepted

At the beginning of April Markus and Katja Neufeld, were happy to receive the official confirmation that they have been accepted by the mission field leadership to serve in the Philippines. This means that they are one step closer to leaving their home country of Germany. Their excitement and anticipation of what lies ahead is growing. God willing, they will leave for the Philippines this autumn.

At the beginning of March, along with others newly heading to the mission field, they attended Ethnos360 Germany’s headquarters with their parents and church leaders. It was a valuable time, especially the personal encounters. At the end of March, Markus and Katja were able to participate with a team from Ethnos360 at a Youth conference in Germany. They had lots of good conversations with young people and really enjoyed their time there and left from the conference feeling encouraged.

They also had the opportunity to share with a smaller group in Markus’ former church. They spoke about how God has led them over the last few years and gave an overview of their move to the Philippines. They were encouraged to see the great interest and to win more prayer partner for God’s worldwide work.

At the beginning of April, they were able to attend the Children’s Mission Day in another area with their young son Theo. This day was organised and held by several missionary organisations. There were around 240 children who were given a good insight into the topic of world missions. The children were encouraged – just like Gideon – to be strong and courageous because God is with them.

Shortly before Easter, they were able to spend a few days on holiday with friends in the Netherlands and spent Easter as a family and with friends in Germany. They are delighted that in June they will once again be able to travel as a family to North Cotes, England, where they were students. They will also attend the Make A Difference mission conference, and are very much looking forward to seeing old friends again.

There are still doctor’s appointments to make, documents to obtain and prepare as well as many questions regarding what to take, what should be stored or given away. God’s guidance and direction for all these decisions is needed, please support them in prayer.

They are currently in the process of setting up a missions team at their church, which will assist them in their ministry practically, spiritually and emotionally. They are glad that some people have already come forward who would like to work with them, but are still praying for more people.

They are grateful to the Lord:

  • That they now have the official confirmation from the Philippines and can therefore prepare more concretely for their departure. Please pray for God’s guidance in all questions and preparations.
  • For the events they were able to attend and for the opportunities to share about and inform people about world mission. Please pray that God will ‘send labourers into the harvest’.
  • That Theo continues to grow and learn. Pray that he will accept God’s forgiveness and salvation. Also pray that he will make good friendships.

Thank you for supporting Markus, Katja and Theo in prayer!
