Esmé was invited to go to another church one evening while they were celebrating an international day. People from many different nations who attend the church were presenting a bit about their countries and demonstrating something of their culture/language to everyone. It was a really interesting time and a wide variety of nations, cultures and languages were represented. Differences can be wonderfully celebrated and barriers can be broken down through Christ, as was evident at this event. Pray for many more people across this nation and continent to come to know Him and to know the joy of being one in Him.
Over the last couple of months (and for the next few months to come), the ladies group at the church Esmé attends have been visiting each other’s homes for the monthly prayer meeting instead of meeting at the church. This has been a lovely opportunity to get to know where people live and to encourage some ladies who don’t always find it easy to get to church. In February, it’s Esmé‘s turn to host it so she is looking forward to that. Pray for these times of mutual encouragement, that there will be a real understanding of His Word and wisdom as they seek to share their lives with each other.
Please continue to pray for Esmé‘s time in class, she had to miss some language sessions recently through being unwell. Continue to pray for her language helper and their time together, that the Lord will stir her heart and point her directly to Him.
Please continue to pray for the taxi men who are at the garage outside Esmé’s apartment and who regularly take her to class.
Esmé is due to visit a village this month where there is a team involved in church planting – please pray for this time, that she would learn a lot and have a better understanding of what goes on in a village setting. Pray that she would be a blessing rather than getting in the way of their ongoing ministry. Pray that the Lord would guide her as she considers how He could use her as part of a church planting team in the future.
Esmé thanks you so much for your prayers over this past year – it makes a huge difference. Life can be a challenge wherever you are and things certainly do not become any easier when far from loved ones. Please pray that Esmé’s trust will be in Him for all and in all. Please continue to pray for her walk with the Lord. (John 3:30).
