The New Year started with answered prayers and encouragement for Don and Char Epp. During their time in Canada, they have enjoyed sharing their story as missionaries serving among the Agta people in the Philippines and speaking to a wide range of ages in varying situations. The last week of January they were invited to teach for a week at a discipleship school for young adults. They felt privileged to share with them, not only what God has done in the Philippines but take time to lay foundations for missions. They were encouraged to see students excited about what the Lord has for them and is doing around the world. It almost made Don and Char wish they were 20 years old and could do it all over again.
Char was able to have more medical tests and met with her doctor mid-January. Thankfully things are stable, and the doctor is happy to leave things as they are for another six months. This meant they were able to take a three week trip back to the Philippines. They were very excited to see everyone as well as see how the Agta believers were doing. Don had curriculum that needed final checks with his language helpers before it could be sent off to print. They also had the joy of passing out solar panelled MP3 players that have both audio Scriptures and the foundational lessons that present the Gospel through Old and New Testament.
There had been some significant deaths in the village since they were last there including a village leader who was like their village dad and their kid’s grandpa. They desired to spend time with his family, sharing both the grief and their eternal hope.
Don and Char appreciate your prayers for the work amongst the Agta people.
