This week Paul and Marina Briggs sent the final draft of the Loron New Testament to the printers. Thank you so much for your prayers!
Over the past several months they have carefully worked through the complete text, dealing with page layout issues, finishing the glossary and maps, and developing other study aids. Three thousand five hundred copies of the New Testament will be printed in the Netherlands.
The printing process will take around three months, and then shipping from Europe to West Africa can take another six to eight weeks. It can take two or three months for consignments to be released by customs, so, they reckon the New Testament should be available to the Loron people by next spring.
Praise the Lord for the completion of this huge task. Paul and Marina appreciate all your involvement through prayer.
Please continue to pray for the safety of the Loron people. A couple of weeks ago, several Loron people died during an attack on their isolated village by unknown assailants who had crossed the border. Homes were burned and livestock stolen. Several women were also abducted but later released.
Pastor Donald continues to work on translating 1 & 2 Samuel into the Loron language. He has completed a preliminary draft of 1 Samuel, so Paul and Marina are now working through various content and comprehension checks.
Joel, a Loron church elder and evangelist, continues to oversee literacy schools in numerous villages. He hopes to begin classes in a new village soon.
Please pray for the members of the Loron translation team and the literacy teachers.
Paul is thankful for your prayers for his recovery after recent surgeries. He is now feeling much better and is glad to be able to get back into a more normal routine.
