Stephen and Helena Brown had never seen so many cars at one time on the Bible college campus where they serve in Colombia, Latin America, and the gym was full. About 250 people attended the play on the life of Hudson and Maria Taylor that Helena, Stephen’s mum, and the students put on in November. The most exciting thing is that many of their neighbours came and heard the Gospel clearly presented. One lady told one of the teachers that she would like to study the Bible! Praise the Lord for this great opportunity!
They thank the Lord for what He is doing in their neighbourhood. Some of the staff and students have Bible studies with the youth and others with a group of elderly ladies.
The graduation of twelve missionary candidates was held on 2nd December. What a blessing to see how God has worked in their hearts and instilled in them a passion for reaching the lost!
Pray for them as they develop their support team and begin to get involved.
The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Matthew 9:37b-38.
The next term will begin on the 5th of February. Pray that the Lord would send them more students. Besides those who will be returning to continue their missionary preparation, there are only six new students!
There are enough teachers for this next term; but they do need an accountant, as the present accountant will be taking on the administration of the whole mission in Colombia.
Tribal Advances: Missionaries with the Emberá tribe were walking home tired and not really wanting to talk to anyone, when they noticed an Emberá man walking behind them. It was obvious that he wanted to talk. The man asked for help because his daughter was unwell. They called a nurse who told them what medicine to buy, and the little girl got better! That led the Emberá man and his wife to visit the missionaries’ home, where they heard the Gospel and were saved!
Thank you for your prayers, you are part of the growth of God’s kingdom in Colombia through teaching and discipleship.
