Daniel and Nicole Noort from the Netherlands, former students at North Cotes College, serve with Native Evangelical Fellowship of Canada (NEFC). Whether on the reserve or around the house, there is always something to do or something that needs to be done. 7 days a week.
Last month, it came to the point that they needed to take a break. Their goal is to plant a church where believers have come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to become like Christ. In their exhaustion, they no longer knew how to get there. In the last week before they took a break, there were five funerals. Only one of those was of old age.
Daniel and Nicole talked to their close friends, and brother and sister in the Lord with whom they lead the church. John took over the service for the next three weeks. Daniel was deeply encouraged that God showed him it is His work and that the church kept on going.
For their break, they went camping with their van for a few nights. Visited a resort for a few nights where they have a mineral spa just an hour and a half from where they live. They call it the dead sea of Canada. Then they spent time at home with their son David who was home from Bible school. It is such a wonderful blessing for them to see him grow up in the Lord.
David is helping at a Vacation Bible Camp just a few hours north. He has a heart for young children to come to know the Lord. He loves to work in the harvest field for the Lord.
Pray that the Lord will give the increase and that there will be much fruit to be gathered in among the First Nations around them.
They praise the LORD:
– That God is in control
– That winter is past
– That He cares for and carries them
– For a good time with David
– For growing relationships and trust
– For rest in Him and the few weeks break
They pray to the LORD for:
– The salvation of the Gordon Cree people
– God to give increase
– Faithful attendance for Bible studies, prayer evenings, and Sunday services.
– Helpers in the church
– His help in preparing for the Creation to Christ Bible Study for September.
