Thank you for all your prayers for the Bergen family, missionaries in the Philippines. More than 500 friends and relatives said goodbye to Boris at his funeral that took place on 21st August.
For Valentina and the children, the loss is incredibly great and painful. Please pray for them in this difficult time that God will give them supernatural comfort and inner peace!
For twelve years, Boris, Valentina and family served the Lord Jesus Christ in the Philippines with dedication. It was their home. They were a great blessing to their colleagues and to the Filipinos.
Boris lived out his faith which was contagious and exemplary. He was a humble person, a loving husband, a great dad, a valued colleague, and friend who was there for others even during the time when cancer had taken a toll on him. Boris leaves a big gap in the Philippines and Germany.
When Boris became ill, as a family they returned to Germany. On August 18 Boris died of cancer at the age of 39, closing his eyes for the last time in the arms of his great love Valentina and was allowed to see his greatest love, Jesus, face to face for the first time.
