Christoph, Susanna and family have now been in Germany on home assignment for over a month and they are grateful to God that their journey went according to plan. After spending the first few weeks with their families, they were able to move into their own flat and grateful that the owner was willing to rent it to them for just six months.
The first few days back in Germany felt a little strange at times. They have settled well but there are still a few ‘firsts’ for the children, which they are enthusiastically embracing: jumping into a pile of autumn leaves, throwing a snowball or even (just) travelling by train
Although it is much colder than where they serve in Asia-Pacific they enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors: cycling, playing in playgrounds, hiking, etc.
The colours of nature that autumn brings have fascinated them anew and filled them with wonder at God’s creation!
Spending time with people and enjoying meeting family, friends and brothers and sisters from churches again means that they are on the road a lot. Being back in fellowship with loved ones after more than two years is very precious.
Over the last few weeks, they have been able to report on their time in Asia-Pacific in churches, involving their children as much as possible.
Christoph and Susanna were also able to invite the mission team from their sending church and cook a traditional meal from the area where they serve – similar to chicken soup with various ingredients. They are very grateful for this team, which provides support in many ways.
Another ‘first’ awaits their children. At the beginning of December, they will be starting at a German-speaking nursery. Pray for them to settle in quickly and make new friends.
Praise for:
A safe journey to Germany.
Their flat.
The fellowship with loved ones.
Many people who stand behind them and are interested in their ministry in Asia-Pacific.
Pray for:
A good balance between visits and family time.
Them to be an encouragement to others and a testimony to God’s faithfulness.
The children to settle quickly into nursery and make new friends
Clarity on how things should continue for them as a family in Asia- Pacific in the long term.
Thank you for your prayers!
