A Full Summer

It has been a full summer for Donovan and Charla Epp and they are thankful for God’s grace. They visited with the Ethnos Canada staff in Ontario, had their adult kids all together, as well as having time to work on teaching materials and recording.

It is not often that they can be all together as a family. A highlight of the summer was spending time camping. The next time they plan to be all together will be January of 2026 in their home in the Philippines. It has been a few years since all the kids have been in the village, so everyone will be eager to welcome them back.

It is typhoon season in the Philippines Recently, Typhoon Ragasa missed the Island of Luzon to the north but certainly affected the area. it was said to have reached sustained winds of 270 km/h. Pray for safety during this season.

Also pray for the family in the village where Donovan and Charla serve who recently lost a loved one from TB. Gudo had played a significant role in their lives. He was an uncle to their kids, and a good friend and neighbour. He listened to a clear Gospel presentation in the Agta language and the Ilocano language and had access to God’s Word. He had opportunity to accept the gift of Jesus Christ’s death for his sin and the promise of eternal life. Pray that his family would turn to Jesus.

Their time in Canada has been used to edit and record Phase 1 materials. These materials, (which teach Bible lessons from Genesis to Revelation), are now available in the Dupaninan Agta language. Pray that they will be used by the Agta for reviewing Bible teaching on their own, teaching their families, and for future outreach to other Dupaninan Agta villages up and down the coast.

Donovan and Charla’s ministry goals for rainy season include handing out materials to the Agta to use for teaching. Together with Agta believers, they plan to create more curriculum for the Dupaninan Agta church. The next books that they plan to teach through are Colossians and Galatians.

When they arrive in the Philippines this autumn, they will have more teaching materials and recording to distribute to the Agta in the Dupaninan Agta language.

Thank you for your continued prayers to see a self-functioning, self-propagating Agta church that is grounded in truth.
