Over the course of the past year, God has made it clear that He is moving Geoff and Dar Gail McNabb and family closer to Dar Gail’s parents in the USA. God has opened a door for them to continue working with New Tribes Mission (Ethnos 360) while doing that. So, they are planning to move to Sanford, Florida, where Ethnos360 (formerly NTM) has its headquarters. In addition to its main offices, Ethnos360 also has a retirement centre for its missionaries in the same town. Geoff will be joining the grounds maintenance team at the Homes of Ethnos360 and Dar Gail will help around the centre, as she is able, while still home schooling the children.
As they have prepared for this change in ministry, God has challenged their hearts with the vital part the retirement centre plays in the task of world evangelisation. The most obvious connection is that of helping those who have given their lives to the ministry to finish well, especially as many have little in the way of finances for their final years. In addition to that, a few of the retirees are still doing Bible translation and teaching using modern technology to connect with people groups overseas. In addition, many devote these latter years to prayer and other support of the current missionary workforce. Another impact to world evangelisation is that many of the retiree’s children are currently serving the Lord in remote areas around the world. Helping care for their parents allows these missionaries to stay on the front lines.
Geoff has been busy mowing these days. The combination of an abundance of both sunshine and rain has caused the grass to grow quite tall. In addition, Geoff has also been helping with a project to install a cement path and a new ramp to the nursery building.
Thank you for praying for Geoff, Dar Gail and family as they prepare for the transition ahead whist continuing to serve at North Cotes.
